Terms and conditions
Effective: 2 November 2026. Developer: Nicolae Ghimbovschi, Republic of Moldova.
eSemnBun is provided “as is” and “as available.” You use the application and website entirely at your own risk, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Scope and license
These terms describe the use of eSemnBun, its website, documentation and related materials. Read them before using the software. If you are not comfortable with the risks and disclaimers, do not use it.
The software is distributed under the MIT License. That license governs permission to use, copy, modify and distribute the software. This page does not restrict or replace rights granted by the MIT License. Third-party components and assets retain their respective licenses.
eSemnBun is an independent project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of Moldova, STISC, certificate issuers, reader manufacturers or the operators of linked services. It does not issue certificates or provide legal advice.
No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer, contributors and copyright holders provide no express, implied or statutory warranties, including warranties of merchantability, suitability for a particular purpose, title or non-infringement.
There is no guarantee that the application, website, documentation or outputs will be accurate, complete, secure, uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with your hardware, operating system, documents or third-party services. There is no guarantee that defects will be corrected, that support or updates will be provided, or that the project will remain available.
A signing or verification result does not guarantee that a document has legal effect, satisfies a particular requirement or will be accepted by a recipient, authority, court or service. You must independently check suitability for your intended use.
Your responsibilities and risks
You are responsible for the documents, identities, websites and requests you select, and for each signature or authentication you authorize. Review the complete document, selected certificate and requesting service before proceeding. Only sign or access material you are entitled to use.
Keep your identity card, PIN, device and saved credentials secure. Incorrect PIN attempts may block the card. The application cannot recover a blocked card or replace the issuer's recovery process. Back up original files and verify signed outputs before relying on, submitting or sharing them.
You assume the risks associated with use, including failed or unintended signatures or authentication, unauthorized access, disclosure of information, lost or corrupted files, card blocking, hardware or software incompatibility, interrupted services and missed deadlines. Demo-mode results are demonstrations and must not be relied on as genuine signatures.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developer, contributors and copyright holders accept no responsibility and will not be liable for any claim, loss, damage, cost or other liability arising from or connected with the application, website, documentation, outputs, or your use of or inability to use them.
This exclusion covers direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special and punitive damages, including loss of data, documents, money, profits, business, opportunities or confidentiality; unauthorized or unintended signatures; blocked cards; rejected documents; and missed obligations or deadlines. It applies regardless of the legal basis of the claim, including contract, negligence or other tort, even if the possibility of such loss has been reported.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits a right, warranty, remedy or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected. Where an exclusion is not permitted, it applies only to the maximum extent allowed by law.
Third-party services
Government portals, app stores, certificate authorities, timestamping services, networks and hardware are operated by third parties. They have their own terms, privacy practices and availability. The developer does not control or guarantee them and, subject to the legal limits above, is not responsible for their actions, decisions, outages or changes. A link or bookmark does not imply endorsement.
Changes and contact
These terms may be updated for future use; the effective date above identifies this version. Changes do not override the MIT License or mandatory legal rights. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
